Frank Frazetta, “Against the Gods”

Oh man, remember when they used this painting in an ad for Jovan? (Essentially, the Axe Body Spray of the 1970s.)

Also, the animated commercial by Richard Williams (best known as the director of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) was amazing. Imagine this on television in the 1970s:

Tom Spina created a Frazetta-art accurate costume of the alien Psychlo villain Terl from Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000

The Spina costume was used at several anniversary events for the re-release of the book, including the float at the Hollywood Christmas Parade in 2016, which featured Lauren Compton as a novel-accurate Chrissie, and Aaron Groben as a novel-accurate Jonnie Goodboy Tyler (yes, that’s really the name of the main character).

All paid for by the Church of Scientology, naturally.

Frank Frazetta.
