“The Bride” (1985).
This movie was incredibly ahead of its’ time. The ethos is that the only real monsters are men and society, with sympathy for outsiders. Sting, in the days when they tried to make him a movie star, stars as Dr. Frankenstein, who creates his perfect woman, the Bride, and loves her with a possessiveness that tries to control her and keep her from being her own person, while the Frankenstein creature (played by none other than Clancy Brown) discovers friends. It’s about how you have to carve out your own place in the world.
